Last night, the Penguins ended all the talk of them possibly being swept. With a 10-3 win in Game 4 against the Flyers, the Penguins did more than just cut the Flyers' lead to 3-1. The Penguins showed that they can not only win one game, but that they have the fight in them to win four. Jordan Staal had a hat-trick, and Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin each had three points each; and all of this happened without James Neal, Arron Asham, and Craig Adams, who were all serving suspensions during this game.
When the Penguins were busy dominating this game, the Flyers played an absolutely horrible game. Goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov let up five goals before being pulled for Sergei Bobrovsky, who let in another five goals. For the entire series, the goaltending on each of these teams has been horrible, but the terrible goaltending was all one-sided tonight. The Flyers defense played an unacceptable game as well. Letting Steve Sullivan go end to end and score like he did proved that the Flyers did not deserve to win this hockey game.
The Penguins wanted it more; that's why they won this hockey game. The momentum is now on Pittsburgh's side. They're going to back home for Game 5 after a dominating win in Game 4. It seems as though Marc-Andre Fleury is back to his old self, or at least he is getting there. If Fleury is playing well, then the Penguins will play well. This win has defiantly brought some life back into the Penguins' playoff hopes. But the question is, can the Penguins expand on this victory? They have to; it's life or death at this point.
